"Breacan Na'n Clerach" ~ The Tartan of the Clergy

I'm honored to wear the "Breacan Na'n Clerach" or the "Tartan of the Clergy". The clergy of the highlands were known to wear highland clothing and the tartan of the Clergy has a long history and very proud story.

One of the highlights of the Clergy tartan story is that; it's the only tartan that was given to an occupation other than a clan or military regiment. Imagine, of all the professions, the clergy were honored with a Tartan to help denote who and what they are.

During the battles in Scotland, the clergy were considered one of the innocents so, just like women and children, the clergy were one of the untouchables. It was against the code of war to touch or harm and innocent.

Rev. Christopher is a proud member of the following associations.

International Society of Kilted Clergy

Scottish Tartans Authority
